I’m now a KDE developer
After speaking with Angelo Naselli a fair bit on the KDE Bugzilla (BKO) and later in the KDE Imaging mailing list, I've decided to do a bit of development on the Gallery Kipi Plugin....
It started a while back when someone was kind enough to post a Gallery2 (the gallery I use on this site) patch to BKO. This was ace but it was not applied to SVN for a long time.
Eventually, Angelo took the bull by the horns and decided to inject a bit of interest/management into the KIPI Plugins project. He asked me to test various changes to the Gallery2 patch and to test/fix a couple of other bugs, which I duely did.
I applied for, and was given, write access to SVN so I am now, officially a KDE Developer!
I now have the impetus to really make something of the Gallery plugin. When it is complete, you can expect Digikam to have a lot cooler integration to Gallery.
All that said, I don't quite know how to tell the KDE folks that I still prefer the Gnome desktop.... :p
